Political career: Mukul Roy is political by profession, but at the same time he also does social work. Let us see how he started his political career. In April 2006, Roy was elected to Rajya Sabha and was a leader of the All India Trinamool Congress from 28 May 2009 to 20 March 2012 in Rajya Sabha. After the retirement of Mamta Banerjee, Mukul Roy became the Railway Minister. On 11july 2011 When Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gave an order to Mukul Roy to go to the place where the accident happened by Guwahati Puri Express in Assam but he openly defied him. Under which he had to lose his post on 12 July 2011.
In 2012, when Mamata Banerjee saw that the price of train tickets was increasing, she held a meeting, Where he made a proposal to reduce the train ticket money and also proposed to remove Dinesh Trivedi from his post. After Dinesh resigned, Mukul became the Railway Minister of India. On the year 2021 June 11, He again joined TMC with his son. On 25 June 2021, he was elected as a member of PAC by the speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and later became the chairman of the PAC on 14 July 2021.
